Prenatal Profile
PRENATAL RISK ASSESSMENT SCREENING TESTS
Double, Triple, and Quadruple Marker Tests are maternal serum screening tests performed during pregnancy to assess the risk of chromosomal
abnormalities and neural tube defects in the foetus.
These non-invasive blood tests help in early risk assessment and informed clinical decision-making.
DOUBLE MARKER TEST
Purpose:
Assesses the risk of chromosomal abnormalities during the first trimester by measuring:
- PAPP-A (Pregnancy-Associated Plasma Protein-A)
- Free Beta-hCG
Timing:
Relevant Documents Required:
- Doctor’s prescription
- Patient’s date of birth
- Body weight
- Entry scan USG report
TRIPLE MARKER TEST
Purpose:
Provides further risk assessment for foetal abnormalities during the second trimester by analysing:
- AFP (Alpha-Fetoprotein)
- Unconjugated Estriol (uE3)
- hCG
Timing:
Relevant Documents Required:
- Doctor’s prescription
- Patient’s date of birth
- Body weight
- Entry scan USG report
QUADRUPLE MARKER TEST
Purpose:
A more comprehensive second-trimester screening test, expanding upon the Triple Marker Test by including:
- AFP (Alpha-Fetoprotein)
- Unconjugated Estriol (uE3)
- hCG
- Inhibin-A
Timing:
Relevant Documents Required:
- Doctor’s prescription
- Patient’s date of birth
- Body weight
- Entry scan USG report
