A referral lab, often described as “the lab of laboratories,” specializes in conducting advanced and specialized diagnostic tests—an arena where Sanjib Acharya has been a formidable force and visionary leader.

From a Modest Beginning to Diagnostic Excellence:
Sanjib Acharya began his journey in January 2000, operating an ELISA Reader from a modest 10×10 ft laboratory. Through unwavering determination, technical expertise, and visionary leadership, he transformed this humble setup into SERUM Group, a premier diagnostic healthcare provider with state-of-the-art laboratories across multiple regions of India.

Today, SERUM Group stands as a trusted name in pathology and diagnostic services, renowned for quality, scale, innovation, and ethical healthcare delivery.

Social Impact & Healthcare Philanthropy:
Beyond business, Sanjib Acharya is a leading Bengali entrepreneur and committed social activist. In 2005, he founded the Serum Thalassemia Prevention Federation (STPF) with the mission to prevent and eradicate Thalassemia and AIDS and to provide free, life-saving medications to affected Thalassemic patients. Over the years, STPF has evolved into a widely respected institution in preventive healthcare and social service.

Under his able leadership, STPF launched a specialized school, “VARSHA,” in 2022, which has already earned recognition as a distinguished educational institution, particularly in inclusive and special education.

Elderly Care & Community Welfare:
In 2018, Sanjib Acharya fulfilled another lifelong vision by establishing Jibanpur Vanaprastha Village Trust in Barrackpore—a state-of-the-art old age home designed to provide dignity, comfort, and care to senior citizens. As President-Trustee, he ensures:

• A charitable medical unit serving local villagers

• FMCG: Creator of Pakriti Ice Cream Parlours, a growing confectionery & beverage chain across Kolkata
• Animal Healthcare: Founder of SERUM Pet Treat, offering comprehensive animal diagnostics and surgical services
• Green Energy (2025): Founder of SERUM Electrogreen Pvt. Ltd., focused on eco-living and sustainable energy solutions, manufacturing green batteries and solar panels for homes and businesses
